I only have limited experience, but have found that the difference
between USB 1.1 and USB 2 card readers is negligible.  The read speed of
the card/reader seems to be the limiting factor here.  USB 1.1 memory
keys are far faster than a USB 2 MMC card reader.  I guess this varies
according to the type of card and the quality of that card.  Are CF
cards faster than SD/MMC??
