USB 2.0 is 480 Mbit/s and USB 1.1 is 12 Mbit/s. If the camera doesn't make
use of the higher speed, maybe there is no need for USB 2.0?

Valid point too. Again, very soon new generation of cards would come out. Camera h/w and s/w should be able to adjust. At worst it should be possible to upgrade the micro code by downloading it from Pentax service site and performing some operation with the camera. I wouldn't expect that kind of flexibility from the very first Pentax production DSLR though. Eventually, I hope it would be possible, since it is only natural thing to do. At least from consumer point of view.
