I just use Canon File Viewer. I've tried all the other stuff, but it
works well enough and is free. If I need some noise reduction I'll use
Breezebrowser.

First I make all my color corrections and exposure adjustments, then I
convert to tiff. If I'm doing digital proofs, I run Breezebrowser to
create html with a custom template.

For paper proofs, I'll convert again to jpg's of the correct size, and
run a b/w action for those I want to convert.
