As for the price of the CL, well, Cotty's selling it for a little bit less than it
would go for on, for instance, eBay, and quite a bit less than KEH. And, with
Cotty (as opposed to some eBay clown you've never seen or heard of before) you
know you'll get satisfaction, and the item will be as he described.
I can only agree with what you said. I bought two items from fellow PDMLers - ME Super and F 85/2.8. Both times I was definitely satisfied. Though ME Super ended up in repairs I think that still it was priced properly and described accurately. It is just my stubborness that I have it repaired because it does not expose properly faster than 1/500 (inclusive).
I suppose that quite a part of so called "enabling" has to do with mutual trust that there is between PDMLers when it comes to equipment.
Having read several eBay stories, I keep myself away from eBay, period <grin>.
But indeed, whatever success in photography one may get is mostly and by far from "shooting lots" also known as "experience" <grin>. I try to force myself to shoot at least one film a week. So far, I've shot 25 films this year which is slightly behind schedule <grin>. It has to do with some serious trouble I had just before I found my job. By that time I had to cut all I could cut. You definitely know what I mean.
I wonder what would say that lucky person who'd buy Cotty's Leica once they get it.
