I think there was some production changs along the way. Early winders and cameras exhibited the mentioned behavior. Later ones did not. With the winder shut off nothing lights when the button is pressed on the later winders. I seem to recall that was not so on the earlier ones. My current MX & winder are later models.
My MX is the earlier model #9177410 and the winder #1157117, earlier or later models ??
