I wouldn't say neandertals. Disinterested and apathetic, definitely. The
main reason I use them is, until lately, they had been doing less damage
(and for less money) than any of the other places I've tried. I've gotten
to where all I ask for is processing, sleeving, and index prints if they
have that capability. I still try different labs, but results have been
disappointing so far.

I'm not sure what kind of machines they have. They do Fuji and have just in
new machines that make noticably worse prints. Does Fuji make their own
machines?

I may try to find the local photography club and see if they can reccomend
someone. Failing that, I guess I'll have to start checking out the
mailorder places.
