Don't underestimate the power of capitalism. Pentax makes money from cameras. In the nineties, they were among the leaders in the P&S camera market. They may yet get a comeback. The day they don't make enough money, the will stop. Investments go where the profit is - like the branches of the trees reach for the sun. Weather we like it or not. It's that simple, really!
