Your points are well taken, Don. I still tend to
agree with the "there are lots of contests out there
and PUG is a little oasis from them" (I just read that
in another post, but can't remember who wrote it; was
it Tom?)

What I do agree with is the reminders on a regular
basis that there is a PUG. Used to be that there'd be
several posts as the 20th of the month approached to
submit, as deadline was fast approaching. It wasn't
always the PUGmeister who did this, just the usual
busy-bodies on the list, minding everyone else's
business but their own <g>.

That seems to have faded a bit, along with general
interest in PUG. It would be a great idea to revive
those reminders again.

One of the other things that's happened, with the
current state of flux that PUG seems in these days, is
that posting PUGs has been somewhat problematic for
some, and confirmation e-mails are no longer
forthcoming. Some poor PUGster (was it Steve
Desjardins? I think so.) had at least two months in a
row where he submitted and it wasn't posted on PUG.

But, all of that is an aside, and I don't mean in any
way to be critical of those doing a great job
soldiering on through all this diversity (yes, I mean
you Adelheid and Jostein).

I like the reminders as the 20th approaches, and I
think that would go a long way in getting submissions
up, and thereby increasing interest as well.

Just my 3 cents (Canadian currency, prior to exchange
into US)

cheers,
frank
