I've got the Jane Brown "Faces" book. She does mention
carrying a 150 watt light bulb in her purse. No meter, no flash.
Shel would like that.

You might find Jane Bown's work interesting. She has been one of the
UK's top portrait photographers for many years, but uses a very simple
set up - 2 Olympus OM1s, 2 rolls of Tri-X, 1/60th at 2.8 indoors. I
can't find out what lenses she uses, but the pictures look like a 50mm
and an 85mm or thereabouts. She makes do with what light she can find,
often window-light, especially in pubs.

Apparently she does (~did~) carry a single bright bulb that she might
replace a standard room light (veiling or desktop) bulb with......

Cheers, Cotty
