I have yet to expose any film thru MY Takumar {Bayonet} f/2.5 135mm, but look forward to it!
If it's half as good as my model I M42 mount Takumar f/2.5 135mm, it will be a quite acceptable lens!

Well, the SMC Pentax 2.5 and SMC Takumar (m42, Later version), are supposed to be identical, except for mount, and seem to yield almost identical results. I have no experience with the Takumar bayonet. What I have heard is that it doesn't hold a candle to the other 2.5's for sharpness but makes a good portrait lens. It is at least a fast lens and as should be noted if you get the results you're after, the lens, (or for that matter any lens), is great.
Yessir! At least so...
The low light capability is seen thru the viewfinder, just like my new-to-me S-1 Vivitar 135mm f/2.3.
First time I held that up to my eye, in a very low light situation—an unlighted room inside—I was amazed at how well I could see to focus, etc.
Lots of times in existing light situations like that, the top characteristic is the ability to gather light and record an image.
The subsequent quality of that image is then up to the skill of the photographer...
Just my humble opinion.
keith whaley Who now has (4) 135mm lenses! What'll I DO with them all? <g>
