Me too on all counts. Since I've pared down my film kit the only motorized
advance I have is the winder for the LX so I'm relying on the *ist D currently
for any subjects than need high speed shooting. It's let me down on a few
occasions now at the track and during concerts. FPS and buffer spec's like the
20D offers would be perfect.

The speed of the *istD is OK with me.

The reaction time of a photographer who has some idea of how he wants the picture is about 1/10 second and will beat even the 1DmkII if the intention is to get one good picture. I gave up winders and motors because I sometimes got the picture before and after, but not when something happened.

Of course this is different if you want a detailed series, but then you are almost into video.
