I rarely if ever have the camera on auto-fire, I have run out of buffer many a time in single shot mode, each time the shutter fired was my decision. Get to the end of the buffer and seven seconds is a mighty long time to wait between frames if a car is flipping in front of you or if a performer is right in front of you performing to the camera. At least with the LX I could pick up my other one (I had two motors) with film pre-loaded so I could get in as many as 72 shots in a sequence at over 5fps (if required).
