No. The flash card shows up as an extra disk drive, and you can treat it just like that. Copy files to it (even non-image files), etc. I've done that to give an (edited) image to a friend with a printer that has a built-in CF reader. The one thing I would recommend is re-formatting the card before you use it again in the camera for anything other than copying files to or from it.
