What's a Drebel?

It's a small forest animal that survives by eating the fungi from around tree roots.

Seriously, I frequently use the *istD with one hand while drinking my Starbucks and wandering around downtown Birmingham. With an autofocus lens mounted, it's quite easy. I do keep the strap around my neck. However, I don't like it without the battery grip installed. I do like my cameras to have a certain amount of heft. I think it helps dampen shutter and mere vibration, while counterbalancing the lens. But that's just me. I can certainly work with a small camera. I've shot a fair amount with an MX and a lot with my Leica iiif. However, I use both of those with small glass. Usually the 40/2.8 or M 35/2 on the MX and a Summicron 50/2 or Summitar 35/3.5 on the Leica. Lately my favorite lens for the *istD is the DA 16-45/4. That's a fairly large lens, and it is nicely paired to the *istD with battery grip.
