I have two friends who use them. One is a retoucher and graphic
designer, the other is a photographer. I've watched both of them work
and fiddled with their machines a bit. Since they use the same
operating system as my G4 dual 1.25, they work the same way. However, I
noticed that most operations seem relatively seamless in that they're
so fast. Where my machine might pause a bit when rotatiing a 144 meg
file one degree, their machines seem to do it almost instantaneously.
I'm sure there is a pause, but it's so brief it doesn't interrupt the
workflow. By the way they both report crashes as virtually nonexistent.
This is true of my dual G4 as well. The latest operating system
(10.3.7) is very bulletproof. 10.4 is due very soon. In recent years
every new operating system has been a substantial improvement over the
last. I expect this will again be a plus.

Thanks for your comments. I've been to the site but was hoping to get
some
first hand comments from users. I guess the G5 is still new and spendy
(much more expensive than a comparable PC), so there may not be too
many
people using them yet. The machine struck me as quite elegant ...
