One useful thing you can do is to look at the airflow through the box. Mine was set up so that the power and case fans both extracted. Turning the case fan round so that it pushed air into the case made it quieter. Adding a fanmate (so that it could run slower - it didn't need to work hard any more) quietened it down even more.
