Hi Darryn,

The use of metal on the "A" series lens aperture rings was limited to the 
higher cost products ie 15f3.5, 15f2.8, 20f2.8, 24f2.8, 28f2, 35f2, 50f1.2 etc. I 
have rarely had problems with stiffening aperture rings on those lens that 
employ metal.
