I have 2. A35/2 & A100/2.8.
I find lots of edge frigning with them. At any aperture.
Better with flash than outside. In fact, really decent with
flash. But outside pics are noticably softer with the fringing.

Is it purple fringing? If so it may be the ultraviolet light, can you
try with an UV filter?

I'll try a UV filter. And I hope it's that simple.
Since the M has a warmer cast to the coatings I would expect
a similar result. But the A is again that cool purplish cast.
I'm going to borrow my son's and give it a whirl.

Frankly, I don't think that a UV filter is going to do much to help. I've experimented with UV and Skylight filters to see if they could correct "purple fringing" (more accurately, 'blooming') issues, and didn't find any particular benefit.

Digital sensors are not particularly sensitive to UV light; UV filters can cause other problems.
