This last one in particular is part of my mantra...
I remember being appalled by the advert many years ago, that showed someone using an SMC lens for an ashtray! Actually putting a cigarette out on the front element! While I'll go WAY out of my way to avoid such abuse on any of MY lenses, nevertheless That image has stuck with me all these years! Sort of leaves you with the impression that an SMC coating is pretty tough, doesn't it?
