Not trying to speak for Herb...

No one is saying "Pentax is doomed". That seems to be the words that some seem to be trying to stick in some of our mouths.

What's being said, is that Pentax is not inspiring confidence, by their past actions, perceived misdirection, and lack of information regarding future plans, that they will produce the products we desire. Add to that, the 'gloomy' financial aspect, and some people (like myself) question whether we want to stay with Pentax. Others think there's no issues and we have only to wait and see.

I wish more accurate reading was done instead of the mischaracterization/misepresentation that is occuring.

I hate to make these kind of comments but I can't help myself:
If everything is doomed why don't you sell of your Pentax equipment while it is still worth something? After all, the AF lenses fetch great prices nowadays due to the sales of Pentax DSLR's. In a couple of years time, when Pentax have close down their image/camera division or is bankrupt, your lenses will be virtually worthless. It must be much better to take the (small) loss now, than waiting for it to become worthless.
