I've not a clue as to what your point is.  I said nothing about RAID.  I
just want to put a bunch of files on an external drive.  Why is it an
oxymoron?  If you're knowledgeable about such things, and feeling helpful,
perhaps you can take a moment to explain the problems and benefits of such
a setup.
