Bill is right; I was definitely profiled. To be fair, it was May 2002,
and there were rumors of a plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge on
Memorial Day, and I was taking pictures of the UN from across the
river. But it was still scary as hell to have 2 cop cars startle me
and have them tell me to come over. They were none too friendly at
first, although they figured out in about half a  minute that I was no
threat. And to most people, there's no discernible difference between
an Indian and an Arab anyway.
