Actually it is high-end video editing where Macs are predominant. If you
go out to California and visit any of the companies doing FX and CGI work
for the motion picture industry you will only see Macs.
Maybe as workstations.... But in the high-end rendering farms it's either
clusters of high-end 64bit linux boxes or even 64bit UNIX (HP - watch the
credits of Shrek; or SUN - watch Finding Nemo) which are attached to massive
storage units. (having young children and going to see a lot of animated
movies, I always watch the credits and cheer silently when the "systems
administrators" are listed... sad but true)
