Regarding Pal's post speculating on an updated LX, my ideal Pentax flagship
would be a PZ-1p built like an LX, with OTF and a modern multi-point AF, a
better MLU and some of the goodies found on the MZ-S. Pentax can then
designate this as the *PL* for Pentax 50th anniversary.
In reality though, I doubt that Pentax is going to release another high end
35mm SLR. They are hardly exhausting any effort marketing their newest and
best made camera since the LX. It seems like they've already bid their adieu
on this format and the MZ-S was their swan song. If there is to be a camera
to commemorate its 50th anniversary, it could very well be a digital one.
And maybe it already exist in the MZ-S digital twin. Do I see the LX-D
designation on this yet to be release pro-level digital camera? Hmmm...
