Hello Paal and all,
I've also read the article in the famous photo magazine
called "Asahi Camera". (It's published by a major
newspaper company called "Asahi Shimbun". There is nothing
to do with Asahi Optical, FYI.)
Well, I don't want to pour cold water above you all, but I
think I'm very pessimistic in this matter, though I have no
inside information nor clear evidence.
Many journalists and writers have pointed out that the
Pentax company is very much engineer-oriented. However, I
think there's a very big gap these days between the sales
and development/engineering departments within the company.
I remember another engineering director (I think it was Mr
Kurei) clearly said in a magazine article that they will
never give up producing LX until there is alternative
"flagship" in their products line. The result is..., you
all know.
This time again, the comment might be their "wish". Of
course, I, too, hope that this wish comes true.
Sincerely,
