Hello Rick, In a word, YES. I have two of them and am very happy with them. They do have the issue of buffer size and write speed, but I have managed to shoot many weddings with my pair, along with sports and other events. I do believe that my photography has improved because of the ability to analyze histograms and chimp at times.
Shooting digital is much like shooting slides concerning exposure - you need to be quite accurate. The other thing is that like anything new, you need a little time to dial in usage of new equipment and work flow. For me, the use of Capture One LE and RAW has made a huge difference. Out of all the raw converters I have looked at, it offered the fastest workflow for batches of pictures. If you are only going to glance through and then work with a select few, it probably doesn't offer anything others don't. -- Best regards, Bruce Tuesday, February 21, 2006, 7:24:11 AM, you wrote: RW> Folks, RW> I've been on the "digital fence" for some time, and RW> had pretty much decided to buy the ist D successor RW> when it becomes available.
