Hi Pl,

It is not only your MZ-S wo eats batteries mine does too! When I bought my I also
bought the battery pack
which was another 150 dollars acourding the manual this was good for 50 ~ 100 rolls
depending on use of flash
whell after 8 films the camera did not transport anymore unless you swiched it off and
on! the batteries are alkaline Photo penlites.
I have to admit that I played a lot with it! but more than 15 films on 4 alkaline
bateries seems to be optimistic.

4 penlites costs a fraction of a set of litium batteries!

About the grip; on the grip are all buttons needed to make vertical pictures.
like bottons for release, dept of field, AE lock and the sensors on front and rear for
a remote controll, with a switch you can activate the remote option, the little white
window below MZ-S on the body stars to blink than.

IMHO the grip is not so ergonomic. or my fingers are just to long!

Subject: The MZ-S; a batteryholic?
Classification:

My MZ-S eats batteries. Its the most dissapointing aspect of the camera. A set of
batteries, costing $20 around here, last for approximately 25 rolls. To me it means a
week or two. Its going to ruin me. I don't use AF much; I'm not the kind of guy who
uses AF for every shot, and only once used the built in flash.
