What I'm saying is that the K10D shoots compressed PEF or *uncompressed* DNG. My workflow uses compressed DNG. I could shoot PEF with a K10D and then go through the batch conversion process to create compressed DNG files. Or I could shoot uncompressed DNG with the K10D... and then go through the batch conversion process to create compressed DNG files. Either way involves the batch conversion process, which can be time consuming. If the K10D shot *compressed* DNG then I'd be able to skip the entire batch process. This is what I was hoping for. I'm hoping it's possible for them to provide this functionality eventually through a firmware update, but I have no way of knowing if that part of the camera's firmware is in the flash ROM.
