My opinion is that if it's working, you shouldn't be able to feel it.
If you can feel it, it will be inducing it's own blur.

If the sensor is counteracting your movement I would think it's motion
would be imperceptible.

My introduction to Pentax SR was with the A10 point and shoot.  If you
want to see the SR effect you can push a little button put there just
for that purpose.  It's a great demonstration in my classes.

I generally have the A10 connected to a digital projector so everyone
in the class can see what I'm doing.  The screen is about six feet
high so any hand movement is greatly magnified.  When I push the SR
button the motion becomes damped and is very smooth.  You don't feel a
thing vibrating in the camera.  If you couldn't see the effect on the
screen you wouldn't have a clue that it's working.

I think that's why the camera manufacturers all light up the little
"hand" symbol to let you know you have it turned on.
