is there a traditional menu at Christmas and New Year in America (like the
turkey) ?
What about other countries?

In Switzerland a lot of people eat "Fondue chinoise" nowadays.
You have a pot with bouillon and put pieces of filet beef on wood sticks and
boil them right at the table.
You eat it with lots of different sauces, the most famous one is called
"bernaise" and potato chips.
