I have a Manfrotto tripod on one of their dollies, however I modified
my leg set so that I can insert split pins into the release locks so
that the legs are free to be raised and lowered without the angular
click-stops. This means that all I need to do is release three
telescopic leg locks and I can raise and lower the tripod without
having to use the centre column, in fact I can remove and cantilever
the centre column on this particular tripod. It works quite well, is
very functionally flexible and it's easy to pack away.
