I don't make copy negatives of any film. I'm in the process of transferring all my slides from cardboard to metal boxes, but even so they will remain at home. If there's a fire, goodbye to them. I have it in mind to scan the most important of them, but realistically that may never happen.
1. Not yet. I haven't taken enough digital photos to warrant this yet. I only have one large disk for photos. I am thinking about my strategy for the future. There are 3 options for the future that I'm thinking about: 1. use a commercial backup service. There are a few around which are specifically intended for photographers. Pro: easy, guaranteed backups. Con: Expensive 2. keep a backup here at home. Pro: cheap, easy. Con: no offsite copy 3. Buddy up with someone else, such as one of my brothers. Pro: cheap, reliable, long term, offsite. Con: a bit more difficult to implement. I quite like the 3rd option. With this one we would provide each other with an internet-facing drive in the other's home and backup across the internet overnight. -- Bob > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 21 February 2007 04:06 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Poll - Your Backup Copies? > > Yeah, I am back, couldn't stay away. :-) > > I was talking with some people today about fire.
