Hi,

>>1. Do you have a location in which you put backup copies of your
JPG/DNG/RAWs (etc.), negatives, and/or prints? Is it a location other than your
 home, in
case of fire or disaster?

When I download pictures from the card, I always do it both to the internal and
to an external disk. Only after both copies have completed I format the card.
Last Christmas I introduced a 3rd copy to a new 500GB external drive (only
digital) and I burned a first DVD that is in my hometown. I probably have now
more that enough to burn the second DVD...thanks for the reminder ! ;-)

Negatives and slides are at home, some are scanned and have a external disk
copy (local).

>>2. If, so, is it a safety deposit box? Or is it a fire-proof strong box at
home? Or something else?

No particular protection.

>>3. How often do you do make backup copies to safely store away? Do you have
some sort of backup schedule or is it sort of hit and miss?

I still don't have a routine for that.

What I always try to do is to have at least 2 copies of every file before I
delete the originals in the card. What your message made me think is about
negatives and slides...I don't think that I would have the time to scan all, so
this is going to be difficult to protect off-site (since it is still my
largest...well, at least more diverse set of images and i don't want them to be
away).
