There are so many which have impressed (and saddened) over the years: the execution of a Viet Cong by a Vietnamese police colonel Dorothea Lange's depression era mother and child the little boy in the Warsaw ghetto, marching along with his hands raised Biafrans queueing to join their army (shot with a 500mm mirror lens - stupendous design of a picture) David Douglas Duncan's war pictures
and those that have cheered: Helmut Newton's nudes Cartier-Bresson's little boy with bread and wine Robert Doisneau's kissing lovers But my favourite: Kashmiri women on a mountain side, 1948, by Henri Cartier-Bresson - superbly seen, beautifully photographed and printed. Many versions have been cropped before printing, which is a massive insult to HCB.
