Some other questions you can ask yourself could be:

How can I, through my selection, show how politically correct I am?
Which photograph can I choose that will show my obvious superior taste,
intelligence, and impress the group?

I've seen a lot of photos that I liked a lot over the years. Picking my
favorite would be impossible. But, if I could choose, what would it mean?
Everyone has their own opinion, anyway.

Perhaps, if the question was, "What is your favorite photo of all those you
have taken?" the question would have more meaning. Then again, maybe not.

The question of favorite photo is an interesting one because it raises the
question of criteria. Should I choose on the basis of the artisic merit
of the image alone? Should I take into account the difficulty in taking
the photo? (Think of some of Robert Capa's wartime photojournalism or the
previously mentioned bullet-through-the-apple shot.) How about the
cultural/political/historic
significance of the image (like the photo of earthrise taken from Apollo
8)? Who you were and what was happening in your life when you first saw
a photograph make a big difference in how it affects you, too.
