You're right, Dick, It was Eisenstadt. I was wrestling with choosing that (along with many others!) before I settled on Ut's photo of Kim Phuc. Interesting story about that one (my apologies to anyone who's heard this): Eisenstadt was just walking throughout Manhatten taking rolls and rolls of film on VE Day, when he noticed this sailor walking ahead of him, grabbing and kissing every woman he saw. He followed him for a couple of blocks, and when the sailor grabbed this particular nurse, Eisenstadt took four photos of the kiss. He promptly forgot about that series of shots, and handed all his rolls into the lab at the end of the day. The next day, his editor was rushed up to Eisenstadt, congratulating him on the amazing shot. Eisenstadt had forgotten all about it! I've seen the other three shots that weren't used, and there certainly was something about "the photo" that was missing in the others.
