Brendan, Excuse me for an obvious question-reminder, but it's been happening a few times here and elsewhere that people forget this. Do you have you AF set to use all the sensors or only one? I don't have first hand experience with th K10D, I only see it on DS, but I believe K10D suffers from the same problem, that the camera doesn't choose the focus point well enough. In either regime (AF-S or AF-C), I just use a one-point focus. At least that way I know what it is focusing on.
