I never use the multi-sensor AF. It's an idiot mode as far as I'm  
concerned. I select a sensor based on what I'm shooting. Sometimes  
the center, sometimes one at an edge. If, for example, I'm trying to  
captures portraits in the coffee shop, I'll frequently go for the top  
sensor with the camera in portrait mode. Same for people walking on  
the street, although in that case I'll use continuous focus. And with  
DA lenses, i frequently resort to manual override. In a setting like  
the coffee shop, where the pace is slow, I'll frequently use manual  
focus if I'm using an FA or earlier lens.
