You need two cables going into the SATA drive, data and power. Older
power supplies don't have the SATA power connector and most SATA
drives don't have the older type power connector, so you need a little
converter device.

It could be worse. I recently had to buy one. How do you say "power
cable converter" in Chinese when none of the sales people speak
decent English!
