David, I recently bought a turntable that has a USB connection and software that allows you to put your LP's on the computer, in I-tunes, so you can then make CD's. It was less than 150.00 at Best Buy and works very nicely. I have made a couple dozen CD's so far and the quality is pretty decent. Most of the time they paly with very little noise but a couple do on occasion, just like playing the real LP's. I have learned over the years that LP's don't do well when the humidity is very dry. Here in FL we don't get that too often however. :-)
