Well, I like the shot.  Lovely expression on his face.

You said you were having trouble focusing - I presume that was due to
the dark.  Did you try manual focusing?

I've got an A50 1.7 that's a pretty poor autofocus performer (at least
on the *istD), and I manually focus it all the time in low-light
situations.  I miss way too many shots otherwise.
