You were working really low light here. Don't be so hard on yourself.
You're not going to get a lot of keepers at 1/3 second. ISO 3200 might
have been a better choice. With "Weak" noise reduction on the K20D,
you can get good results at that ISO if you don't underexpose.

You said you were having trouble focusing - I presume that was due to
the dark. Did you try manual focusing?
Hi Frank: Thanks. It was just a bad night. Nothing was wrong with
the equipment or light--just the photographer. :-) You know, I got
the K20D around the 1st of this past October. I'm very happy with
the camera, but I got it at a time when I felt like I was really in
the zone--or maybe it's more accurate to say near the zone--with my
K10D. I was at the point where it just felt so natural in my hands,
felt "light" (in a figurative sense) in my hands, I could almost
forget about the camera itself & just shoot. But I interrupted that
with the acquisition of the K20D. I started a new equipment
learning curve, and the momentum I had going for myself got
interrupted. Granted, there isn't a dramatic difference in the two
cameras in terms of usage, but still . . . Anyway, I knew I was
going to get the K20D. I knew about the construction project coming
up, and I wanted 2 bodies so I didn't have to change lenses (wide to
long or long to wide) in the middle of a dusty construction area, &
I knew I needed a back-up body in case one tanked, so I was going to
have to deal with a new camera anyway . . . I just need to shoot
more with the K20D . . . . sorry for the ramble :-)
