Re-read several reviews. That does seem to be the case ... the words
"effective" 1,440,000 pixels with the field sequential system means
480,000 in R, G and B. It's re-using the same locations for each color
in sequence, so total resolution is 1/3 that effective number. That
drops it down to an 800x600 pixel display. Still darn good, although
not quite the 1400x1050 that one review spoke of.
Doesn't matter really. I find it a good, sharp display, very easy to
focus and view with. Better than any of the optical pentamirror
viewfinders for my eyes: sharper, brighter and larger.
