Rick, the sixpack that went into the machine was dumped after I
developed one. Visible, irregular bands were evident in the unexposed
film. I understand newer x-ray machines switch from low to high energy
scanning modes when detect suspect metal densities.
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/tib/tib5201.shtml offers some
extra info. My Fuji Pro Value 200 came out fainter but similar to the
fifth pattern counting back from the bottom of the page.
To that day I believed modern x-ray scanners would be hard to find in
Brasil.
Thanks!!

Back in the day, I carried lots of film in my camera bag, and just let it go
through the xray machine. I could not see any problems. From what I've read,
it is only very high speed film that can get fogged.

Well, seems almost certain a trip of yours trully around
part of the US between april and may '09. Here in Brasil
I don't have much trouble with hand inspection of my
films - only lost six unexposed rolls so far, in a single
event.
But I wonder if this is still possible in the US - my
latest experience there came fairly ok in may, '01.
Still have a small film shield, but lately I just carry my
6pack of Fuji as I walk under the metal detector and ask it
to be hand checked.
I can travel without film if needed, but would rather have
some with me all the time. Still remember the most
suspicious way some security party regarded my gossen
lightmeter once...
Comments? Ideas? Thanks!!
