The worst thing to do is to pack film in your checked bags, as they randomly pass through a much more powerful X-Ray machine. They'll up the power to see through your lead foil shield bags if they need to. Bad.

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/tib/tib5201.shtml offers some extra info. My Fuji Pro Value 200 came out fainter but similar to the fifth pattern counting back from the bottom of the page.

To that day I believed modern x-ray scanners would be hard to find in Brasil.
