The world is beginning to take notice. We thank Vista in no small
part.
Apple today reported the best quarterly revenue and earning in its
history, ”surpassing $10 billion in quarterly revenue for the first
time ever,” according to Steve Jobs. Announcing results for its
fiscal 2009 first quarter, Apple posted record revenue of $10.17
billion and record net quarterly profit of $1.61 billion, or $1.78
per diluted share. During the quarter, Apple sold 2,524,000 Mac
computers, a record 22,727,000 iPods, and 4,363,000 iPhones.
As a fellow Mac user, I celebrate with you. However, there are some
unregenerate PDLMers who will never admit that anything good can
emanate from Cupertino...
I enjoy my Mac, but would never tell anyone that they "should" get
one. I just tell 'em I liked mine after an initial adjustment period.
And, frankly, I want a few people to stick with Windows because I make
a lot of money cleaning up viruses 'n' spyware in the evenings and on
weekends. I realize that Windows gets hit mostly because it's a
bigger target, and one day we could have "issues" in OSX-land... but
right now it's pretty quiet on this end of the computer world. Which
suits me fine.
And.. even though I like the platform, I've got to admit that the
world has its share of "Mac douchebags" who are high-and-mighty and oh-
so-superior and don't do Apple any favors for their look-down-on-the-
rest-of-them attitude about their choice of computer. I'm just sayin'
