My brother has one of those and I have used it a fair amount.
Seems to have nice glass (these is something about the way it renders
bokha that looks different then Pentax, but not in a bad way). Build is
nice and solid (it's heavy, but that's not surprising). The AF sucks on
my DS, totally sluggish, but isn't bad (though slower then an 18-55) on
a K10. Not having manual override (or what ever that is called) on the
AF is a drag but can be lived with.
The one my brother has seems to have a slight back focus problem but
he hasn't done a conclusive test yet.
Macro is sweet (very handy to have good macro on a "walk around" lens).

I don't remember seeing much mention of this lens in the "normal
zoom" discusions. What's it like? It seems reasonably fast, at least
faster than my 18-250.
