Wow. I'm truly honored to hear my work cast in such a light. Thank you
all.
I have looked around at Rodchenko briefly. I knew the name but have
not seen his work in depth. I'll have study him some more. Inspiration
can come from many places... ! :-)

It reminds me more of one of HCB's pictures, also shot from above. Of
course, HCB was probably well aware of Rodchenko's style. On the
other hand,
he didn't much approve of photos taken from strange angles and
viewpoints,
as Rodchenko often did. Rodchenko was opposed to photos all being
shot from
the level of the navel, so he sought out strange angles.
For me Rodchenko is a bit hit & miss. I don't much like the strange
angles
and montage style, but he was ahead of his time and defined a very
influential style, with Mayakovsky. I prefer his more straight work.

But one of the most acclaimed shot in the PDML manual was shot ala
Rodchenko, the view looking down at the plaza with the mother and
stroller, and the child running down the steps (my sis has the book,
so can't research the photographer). That was a good image in my
opinion.
