This advice flies in the face of what i've experienced with other Pentax digital cameras. Correct exposure at the chosen ISO has always proved less noisy than an underexposed RAW at a lower ISO tht was pumped up in conversion. ISO 1600 was decent quality on the *istD, so I suspect it will be useful on the 100D as well. The K20D is about a stop or so better.
