Just for some very descrete fill when shooting towards the sun.
What I need to make more use of it, is some kind of setup that gets it
further away from the lens axis. Camera mounted it gives flat light
simlar to pop up flash.

I use a flash bracket to get the flash up high and on the axis of the
lens, plus it attaches to the tripod foot of the lens so when i rotate
to portrait orientation the flash stays in place.
